Can I meet you before we work together?
Absolutely! We offer a free 15 minute consultation for you to meet us and see if you think we'd be a good fit for you. This is also a great opportunity for you to try out the online or phone platform to get a feel for it.
What should I expect from the first session?
Much like a first date, the first session is where we get to know each other. And much like a first date, you might feel a little nervous to start with. It's perfectly normal to feel a little apprehensive when trying something new. We'll get to know each other and talk about the goals you'd like to work towards. Counselling is a very personal experience, so we will always go at your pace.
How long will we work together?
The counselling process is as unique and individual as you are, so there really is no definitive timeline for therapy. We go at your pace and address your specific needs in a way that works for you. Some goals can be met in just a few sessions, and other goals take longer to work through. Our intention is to support you in building skills and tools that you can apply to your day to day life so that you can be successful in creating the life you want.
How frequent will our sessions be?
Most clients start out with weekly or biweekly sessions and then gradually begin to reduce the frequency as needed. Sometimes you might even feel ready to take a break from regular sessions and just come as and when you need.
How are online sessions delivered?
Online sessions take place on Zoom, which is a fully secure, encrypted and privacy compliant healthcare video chat platform.
What times are sessions available?
We offer daytime and evening appointments to best accommodate a variety of schedules.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit card payments (Visa or Mastercard) or E-transfer.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give 48 hours notice for all appointment changes and cancellations. With less than 48 hours notice, you will be responsible for 50% of your session fee. With less than 24 hours notice, you will be responsible for the full fee the session.
Is counselling covered through insurance?
Most extended health insurance benefits cover counselling. Please make sure to check your plan's coverage to find out your eligibility. We don't offer direct billing, but you will receive a receipt each time that you can submit for reimbursement.
